New club rule

Any archery shooting carbon arrows must inform the club safety officer if a carbon arrow is broken and where this happened. This may/will require the disposal of any butt that has had a broken carbon arrow within it.

If this should happen please contact Kevin Kitchener or inform any committee member.

Club championship Day

November the 2nd will be our club championship day it will be a day to celebrate our last major club shoot at the old grounds as by then we may well have everything finalised for our move.

The 3d targets will be placed out in the afternoon of the 1st so there will be no shooting from around 2pm on that day to ensure safety for those setting up, please if you can come along on that day to help set up these targets the more the merrier and easier .

Awards will be handed out in the evening we are hoping many will stay to help say goodbye to the old woods in a way only us archers can, the canteen will be open please feel free to bring your own food to cook if you wish, being so close to Guy Fawkes we may even have some fireworks.

This will be operated as a NFAS shoot so please be at the club early as a 10.00am start will be in place. This will allow time for score cards to be handed out and groups organised. Anyone who would like to nominate please contact me on 01474 359888 if no answer please leave your name and what class you are shooting in this will help in sorting out groups as well.

New Emblem Competition

Here it is your chance to get involved with helping to create a new emblem for our club. With the move to new woods in the pipeline it was decided at the last committee meeting to open it up to the members to design a new fresh emblem. So if you have an eye for design or just want throw something in the pile then go for it yours could be the new emblem for Bridge woods Field Archers you can hand them to me in person or Send your designs to me.

Strange creature sighted

There have been reports of a strange creature roaming our woods with many archers coming back to camp with worried and bewildered looks upon their faces.

I have looked into the matter and would like to assure all members that although it is a strange sight it is only our own Dave Sherratt using a compound yes that’s right a compound, Dave is safe to approach but I stress only after he has had his first cup of coffee and to ensure your own safety I ask that you don’t feed him or mention the word wolves.

Congratulations

Two members deserve a good pat of their backs for achieving placings in what is only there 3rd competition ever, they started Archery just over one year ago and after some serious coaching and equipment adjustments are now shooting well enough to achieve medals at competitions in the compound limited class, so congratulations go to Mat Linin and Mark Ayling keep up the good work great to see the improvement in your archery, And in a recent competition our club coach Kevin also placed in fact he won in the longbow class at liberty summer bash so congrates to you as well kevin.
